Crush 2005
Our aquisition for 2005 was a mighty Italian crusher destemmer, which not only did its job quickly, but also provided high entertainment value when it fired the stems out of its rotating drum at high speed.
Skip, Marilla, Geoff, and Ann were all there to help. We managed to operate the machines without loss of limb or life, which seemed like a good thing.
Another first for us this year was picking the Chardonnay ourselves. Beth managed to take the tip of her finger off with her Falcos, but this didn’t slow her down much. It is hard work, though, and the crews that work for us during harvest really deserve our respect.
